COVID-19: Prophet TB Joshua Release Another Message to Buhari
opera.com Apr 2, 2020 1:47 PM

Founder and leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua has released fresh warnings about the coronavirus (COVID-19) contamination in Nigeria.

He cautioned that if the situation is not handled correctly, numerous Nigerians might suffer.

The pastor in a series of tweets urged Nigerians to look unto God as only him could deliver them and the entire world from the ravaging pandemic.

He said that believers must assume responsibility for their situation as being afraid, for Satan, the cause of crises, “has been defeated.”

“Whatever chain satan must have used to connect you to himself – be disconnected and be free, in the name of Jesus Christ! Whatever medium satan must have used to connect your marital life, career, health, business, finances to himself – be disconnected and be free!

Responding to the 14-days lockdown requested by President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, Joshua cautioned that “In the event that you shut down the individuals, you have closed down the economy.”

He included that “Regardless of how a lot of money you infuse into the economy, regardless of the amount you provide for every resident, cash alone can’t resuscitate the economy; the individuals restore the economy – in light of the fact that individuals are the economy.”

Reviews the prophet had regretted that his prediction expressing that the lethal Coronavirus would end March 27, 2020 was misconstrued by “Nigerians.”

He adjusted his forecast, saying what he implied was that the infection would disappear profoundly by 27 March.

His words: “I meant coronavirus would vanish spiritually the same way it came. As I speak, the virus is no more in the spirit realm.

“I didn’t specify so why would people conclude I meant physically. Men of today lack understanding.

“Instead of taking time to understand the context in which something was said, they are always quick to judge,” he said on Sunday.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, told Nigerians living in South Africa that the recent acts of xenophobic attacks in the country was shocking to him.
President Buhari stated this when he addressed Nigerians living South Africa during a town hall meeting.
The President is on a three-day visit in South Africa to address the recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other issues.
Buhari said “It gives me pleasure to be with you today. I hope you had a memorable 59th Independence Anniversary celebrations on 1st October 2019?
“This auspicious occasion calls for unity of purpose, strength and focus by all Nigerians, at home and abroad, for our progress and development as a nation.
“As you are aware, in all my engagements outside Nigeria, I have always set aside time to meet with our country men and women in Diaspora in a Town Hall setting like this. My message is three fold and simple :
“First you are our Ambassadors and the face of our country to the world wherever you are. The world is, therefore, watching you and would make judgments on Nigeria based on your comportment and actions.
“Second, in whatever legitimate engagement you find yourself, you must strive to excel and be the best.
“Third, while you are out in the Diaspora, do not forget home. You represent some of the best human asset that Nigeria has. With your education and exposure to the world, you are at the cutting edge of technology. I, therefore, urge you to use your resources, skills and talents to help the development of Nigeria.
“We have now established a dedicated agency, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, whose Chairman/CEO is here with us today, to help guide you in actualizing your willing contributions to the development of our country.
“The recent acts of xenophobic attacks on our compatriots and other Africans in South Africa are shocking to me, Nigerians and indeed Africa. It was an embarrassment to the continent. Let me again use this medium to condole the families of all those who lost their lives over the years in such tragic incidents. May their souls rest in peace.
“I also commiserate with all those who were injured. May God heal their wounds. My sympathies are also with those who have lost properties.
“As a government, we are quite disturbed by this very unfortunate events and have taken actions and measures to address this issue and prevent their reoccurrence with the South African government. I had earlier directed the evacuation of Nigerians who do not feel safe to remain here.
“Over five hundred have returned home and are being reintegrated into their communities. At this juncture, I wish to express my profound gratitude to Chief Allen Onyeama the Chairman of Airpeace Airlines, who showed compassion and patriotism by immediately offering to evacuate our Nigerian brothers and sisters who had been affected by these xenophobic attacks.
“During my visit here, we have discussed these attacks on foreigners and Nigerians. The authorities have expressed their apologies over the incidents and have resolved to take necessary steps to end this ugly trend in the interest of our relationship.
“We have just inaugurated the Nigeria/South Africa Bi-National Commission at the level of Heads of State with a firm determination to further bring our two countries together in a mutually beneficial partnership. Let us therefore give peace a chance and pray we have seen the last of this ugly violence.
“Let me also call on all Nigerians to be law-abiding and respect constituted authorities while you live here. May I also enjoin the few that sometimes gives us a bad name, to desist from such misdemeanours and be our good ambassadors.
“I thank you and wish you all the best in your endeavours. God bless you. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Buhari govt under fire for abandoning Enugu International Airport, other infrastructures in Igboland

Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA) has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for deliberately refusing to invest substantially in the reconstruction of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
The group frowned at the government’s decision to close down the airport without commencing repair works several weeks after.
HURIWA also condemned the excuse that lack of funds is the reason for not commencing repair works to improve safety facilities at the only international gateway to Igbo land several weeks after “Nigerians were deceived that the facility needed to be shut so as to enable the government to do the necessary repair works.”
The group demanded an explanation from the Aviation authority for openly lying that work had started a few days back only for it (HURIWA) to visit the facility yesterday to discover that Nigerians were sold a dummy since not a single repair work is going on there.
HURIWA said it has, therefore, decided to petition the National Assembly to protest the deliberate scheming of the Minister of Aviation, Alhaji Hadi Sirika to frustrate passengers going and coming from South East of Nigeria and subject them to horrendous ordeals even when the closure of Abuja international Airport for similar repairs did not face similar fate of shortage or lack of operational funds.
According to the group, the government decided to abandon the South East of Nigeria and specifically the shut airport because the South-East politicians have not followed up and mounted pressure on the government to do the needful and end the denial of the fundamental human rights to freedom of safe movements to the citizens of South East of Nigeria.
In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Friday, signed by its National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, HURIWA added, “It is unbelievable that the current administration has extended the willful marginalization of the South East from the lack of strategic security and top federal appointments to the shutting down of the only international entry to the South East which is the Akannu Ibiam International Airport.
“When Abuja international Airport was shut for repairs, the Kaduna Airport got rapid facelift gulping billions and the Federal Highway to Kaduna was fixed even as special security forces were deployed to provide twenty-four hours security services for all passengers.
“But the Akannu Ibiam International Airport was shut down and for months there have been no repair works and the Enugu/Owerri Federal Highway has collapsed, the state of insecurity is so high on the same stretch of road with suspected armed Fulani kidnappers operating within that axis but the government simply neglected the Igbo speaking nationality as if they are second class citizens.
“HURIWA will not be deceived by the propaganda of the Aviation minister that funding hitches may have caused a delay in the rehabilitation of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, which was shut down by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on August 24 this year.
“Does it then mean that the Minister for Aviation, Hardi Siriki who was in Enugu in August who told reporters after a meeting with governors and stakeholders in the South-East zone that the airport would be reopened before Christmas was simply lying?
“Was this not the same minister who had assured that the rehabilitation work would come with the installation of lighting devices and other gadgets to enable the airport to operate night flights that could culminate in additional flights? Why sell the dummy of lack of funds when the same treatment was never extended to Abuja airport?”
HURIWA recalled that six weeks after closure of the airport, reconstruction work is yet to begin, even as there are no indications that the contractor would mobilize to site soon because the contractor that handled the dilapidated runway in 2010 is afraid of mobilizing to site as he was not sure of adequate funding, especially since there would not be any break in the work when it commences.
Recall that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo had earlier raised the alarm over the closure of the airport without funding and award of contract for its rehabilitation, expressing fears that the deadline may be missed.
